Kohl Children’s Museum delivers STEAM fun at ATC
The Kohl Children’s Museum is bringing hands-on learning to the community with a free pop-up museum at College of Lake County’s (CLC) Advanced Technology Center (ATC). The interactive exhibits, designed for preschoolers through third graders and their families, promote STEAM learning through play and exploration.
“The Advanced Technology Center is about technology education, and we are thrilled to be part of the work of Kohl Children’s Museum to inspire the next generation in becoming technology explorers,” said ATC Director Jon Hardbarger. “Hosting the Kohl Museum pop-up here also provides the community another opportunity to visit the ATC and learn about the technology and workforce programs offer.”
The pop-up will be open through May 3 during the following hours:
- Wednesdays: 5 to 7 p.m.
- Thursdays & Fridays: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Saturdays: 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Featured exhibits include:
- Design and Build: Explore engineering and construction with Rigamajig and design train paths on our Train Table.
- Light and Shadow: Experiment with colors and patterns on light tables and create shadows with the shadow dome.
- Motion Quest: Discover how air pressure, gravity and gears make objects move—without even touching them!
- Art Studio: Create masterpieces with easels, make-it stations, and 3D sculpture materials.
