April 12: Creativity abounds at Maker Faire Lake County
Get ready for a day of discovery, invention and pure creative energy at the 5th annual Maker Faire Lake County. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, the PE Center at College of Lake County’s (CLC) Grayslake Campus will transform into a playground for makers, tinkerers, engineers, artists and innovators of all ages. Admission is free—bring your curiosity and get ready to explore, create and be inspired.
Maker Faire is a celebration of all things you can make, from engineering and science to crafting and design. The event also highlights CLC’s Baxter Innovation Lab, a hub for makers since 2018. Last year, more than 1,200 people attended.
“Come experience the magic where imagination becomes reality,” said Engineering Instructor Jan Edwards. “At Maker Faire, you'll find a community that turns 'what if' into 'what's next'. It is exciting to see makers of all ages possibly sparking your passion for future projects.”

The final round of the Lake County Robotics Competition for students in grades 7-12 will also take place at Maker Faire, adding an extra level of excitement for young innovators.
CLC is hosting Open House the same day, at all three campuses, the Advanced Technology Center and the student-managed Prairie Restaurant at Brae Loch, making April 12 a perfect day to experience all that CLC has to offer. Click here to register for Open House.
